These Terms & Conditions cover work done by Torque Lab Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”), based in Greater Manchester. We provide mobile ECU remapping and related tuning across Greater Manchester and the North West.
1. Services
We offer mobile automotive software work which may include Stage 1 and Stage 1+ remaps, economy remaps, gearbox / TCU mapping, custom calibrations, diagnostics advice, and related support. We work at your home, workplace or another agreed spot with professional kit. Exact work is confirmed when you book in.
2. Quotes & website information
Quotes, expected power/torque gains, and results from our website compatibility checker are estimates only. Final suitability, method (OBD, bench or boot), and gains depend on the vehicle’s condition, hardware, software version and diagnostics on the day. We may revise or withdraw a quote if the vehicle differs from the details you gave us.
3. Vehicle suitability & your responsibilities
You confirm you own the vehicle or have authority to have it remapped, and that it is mechanically sound and roadworthy (where used on the road). Tell us about existing faults, warning lights, modifications, previous remaps, or warranty/lease restrictions before we start. We may refuse or stop work if pre-tuning checks fail or we consider the vehicle unsafe or unsuitable.
4. Booking, access & cancellation
You must give us safe access to the vehicle, a working battery/power supply where needed, and enough time for diagnostics, backup, flashing and checks. Payment is due on completion unless agreed otherwise in writing. Cancellations or no-shows with less than 24 hours’ notice may incur a call-out / wasted journey fee.
5. Original file backup
Where we can, we back up the original calibration before writing a new map. A copy may be provided on request at the time of service. Restoring the original map may be offered subject to availability and a reasonable fee if outside any agreed guarantee period.
6. Guarantee
We offer a 30-day satisfaction guarantee on remapping we have supplied, covering the calibration work itself. It does not cover pre-existing faults, wear and tear, poor maintenance, later mechanical failure, third-party modifications, misuse, or damage unrelated to our software. Remedies are limited to rework or, at our discretion, restoring the original file and a refund of the remap fee paid to us.
7. Insurance, warranty & manufacturer systems
Remapping may affect manufacturer warranties and must usually be declared to your insurer. That’s on you. We don’t accept liability for warranty refusal, insurance claims issues, or manufacturer software updates that overwrite a remap.
8. Emissions & legal compliance (UK)
Vehicles used on UK public roads must stay compliant with road traffic and emissions laws. We do not offer DPF, EGR, AdBlue, catalytic converter or similar emissions-system deletes for UK road use. Any request for off-road / track-only use must be declared clearly when you book. You remain responsible for the legal use of your vehicle after any work.
9. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law. Subject to that, our total liability for any claim arising from our services is limited to the price paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, downtime, or hire-car costs except where required by law.
10. Website use
Content on this website (including blogs, guides and the compatibility tool) is general information. It isn’t a substitute for inspecting your vehicle or advice for your specific car. Don’t misuse the site or try to disrupt its systems.
11. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this website when you book applies to that booking.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
